After three games on the road, Barcelona are coming home to welcome Valencia. The game is scheduled for Sunday, September 14, but it’s still not certain at which stadium.

Camp Nou is almost ready for a big comeback after two and a half years of reconstruction. However, as per Spanish media, Europe’s biggest sports venue won’t reopen in time for the Barcelona vs. Valencia La Liga game.

Instead, Hansi Flick and his men are expected to play in front of a limited number of supporters (approximately 6,000) at Johan Cruyff Stadium. Will this have any impact on their performance? Let’s find out!

Odds Favor Barcelona to Win Its First Home Game of the Season

Three rounds have already passed in the 2025-26 Spanish La Liga, and the defending champion is sitting in fourth spot. Barcelona won the first two games of the season but then drew 1:1 with Rayo Vallecano.

The games Hansi Flick’s team won were against Mallorca (3:0) and Levante (3:2). Each of those was played away from Barcelona, but these guys are coming back to their home city in Round 4.

They’re welcoming Valencia, a team with which they have a pretty good record. They’re without a single loss to this opponent in matches played in Catalonia since 2016. Further, the last time they met in Barcelona, the hosts destroyed Valencia 7:1.

Valencia Praying to Avoid Disaster

Losing to Barcelona isn’t embarrassing, but getting hammered 7:1 sort of is. Not only did they lose by such a horrible margin in their most recent La Liga game against this team, but they suffered a similar disaster in their Copa Del Rey duel in Valencia – Barca beat them 5:0.

But those losses happened last season. In 2025-26, Valencia looks much better. These guys are 1-1-1 in La Liga, with their most recent game being a 3:0 win over Getafe. Their players were clinical in that game, scoring three goals from four shots on goal.

Their defense did really well, helping goalkeeper Julen Agirrezabala keep a clean sheet for the first time since coming to Valencia from Athletic Bilbao. But we doubt he’ll do it against Barcelona as well. The thing is that Flick’s men look incredible on offense.

Barcelona vs. Valencia Prediction

We’re almost certain that Barcelona is going to win the September 14 game. However, we don’t think they’ll destroy Valencia as they did in their last two meetings.

Flick’s men will probably try to keep the ball in their possession for as much as possible, creating a relatively low number of scoring chances. They’ll probably score a couple of goals, but we also expect Valencia to put on a fight defensively.

As a result, our prediction is that there won’t be more than three goals in total in the game.
